|Shortly after the road was re-opened, the Mini started developing a miss fire. Initially this wasn't a problem, but this got worse and worse until the car stalled and would not restart.
It ground to a halt outside and Army base where we were told that we had to move on... Not an option as the car wouldn't start.
At this point the above Truck pulled up, with an Irish number plate. The truck was full of a group of Irish people on an overland expedition tour. We were a little surprised to see them, but not half as surprised as they were to see us.
After a bit of troubleshooting with the car, we found the points covered in dust, and incorrectly gapped. We changed these for a new pair and gapped them. This, to our delight got the car going again. Unfortunately our joy was short lived.
